DAY 2 – UNVEILING PAHALGAM’S NATURAL WONDERS
Today, we decided to hop on a pony, and witness the beauty of Pahalgam in peace and serenity. We booked two horses near the Pahalgam main market, which is very expensive, but the good thing is that you can bargain a lot. Alternatively, for trekking lovers, the Pahalgam valley can be explored by foot.

“A new morning in Pahalgam valley”
Our first stop was Kanimarg – situated amidst lush greenery, is a winding trail and the scenery is nothing short of spectacular.

Next up, our horse took us to a waterfall that cascades down in the valley. We took a stop here to witness the awe of nature’s grandeur.

“Tejas at the beautiful Pahalgam valley waterfall”
After the waterfall, the horse started climbing up the Kashmir or Denow Valley, it was quite adventurous, especially when you have your 2-year old child on the horse with you. It was time to hold on tight.

“Ascending the Denow Valley”
Then, we made our way to the Dabyan Valley. This picturesque valley is truly something out of a fairytale with green meadows nestled between snow-capped mountains. We took a long break here to eat super tasty and hot maggi noodles with a cool breeze on your face.

“Bliss at the Dabyan Valley”
Last but not the least, our final stop was the Baisaran valley, also known as “Mini-Switzerland”. It is like a dreamland surrounded by dense pine forest and the Himalayas. There are lots of fun activities like zorbing, dressing up like a local Kashmiri, Ziplining, etc.

“Kaira’s elegance”
P.S: After a long journey on a pony, our baby was so tired she literally slept on it.

DAY 7 – FROM SONAMARG TO THE CITY OF SRINAGAR
On the seventh day, we bid farewell to the enchanting Sonamarg and embarked on our way to Srinagar. As we reached the city of Srinagar, we headed straight to our accommodation at Vivanta Dal View – nestled on a mountain with a panoramic view of the Dal Lake.

“Panoramas from Vivanta Dal View”
When in Srinagar, you cannot miss a shikara ride in Dal Lake. Gliding through the waters, surrounded by floating gardens and ornate houseboats, it felt so peaceful and made our evening a memorable one.

On Day 9, we wrapped up our Kashmir trip and proceeded for our journey back home. There are a few offbeat gems which can be clubbed with this itinerary or a different itinerary altogether – Doodhpathri, Gurez Valley and Yousmarg. These destinations are quite untouched allowing you to escape crowds.
